B-Rated
The B-Rated section of this website has been neglected for a good long while, but I do have plans. I'm about to migrate everything to a new server (dubbed the SupercleanEngine) and taking it up there.
For the movie section, I think I want to make something more useful than just scoring what I like. Who really cares, right? But I have made some discoveries. For example, I have a growing list of old black-and-white movies that are appealing to kids (and quite impressive to us adults. Did you know Charlie Chaplin starred, directed, wrote, produced, and even scored the frickin' music? They need like 600 people to do all of that now.)
There are a billion ways I could go w/ music, and there simply isn't enough time in the day. Perhaps we lose the music "reviews" and just bring them up in the blog like I do anyway. I'm still making discoveries all the time. This week I'm soaking in Prez's Hat (the legendary Lester Young) from the Savoy in 1950... recorded from the audience!
I would also like to expand my Musical Prescriptions for Social Diseases, or whatever I called it last time. What diseases, you ask? Well, out here in California, it's mainly bad driving and socialism. But I digress. I no longer think that music can improve the world. Or the neighborhood. But perhaps you, dear reader, we can improve your musical outlook. That's not being too pushy, is it?
Recommending podcasts is tricky because they can turn on a dime. The idea here might be to have a one-page index of current podcasts both audio and video. We suffer waiting for more Goodnight Burbank... and we miss Flipper Nation terribly... Ze Frank, re-runs don't cut it... but there's so much that IS going on. Maybe this rainy day weekend I'll finish off those taxes, make headway on the migration project, and begin making these improvements I've been promising myself for many months.
