Thousands Attend Nationwide Town Hall Events to Gain Meaningful Economic Recovery

In more than 30 cities over the last two weeks, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) convened local elected officials, faith leaders, community organizers and concerned citizens at Town Hall events across the country to urge President-elect Barack Obama and Congress to take decisive and sweeping actions to stem the rising tide of foreclosures, invest in infrastructure-focused spending to create jobs and encourage small business development, and strengthen social safety nets for those communities that depend on these services most.  The nationwide Town Hall events were held in collaboration with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), USAction, and partners in local communities.

Town Hall Updates

At events in more than 30 cities across the country, community organizations are coming together with NCRC and USAction to call on local leaders and Congress to enact solutions to the economic crisis. These solutions focus on foreclosure prevention efforts and on stabilizing neighborhoods that have been disproportionately affected by the foreclosure collapse.
